Dubai Duty Free IRISH OPEN 2017

The Club was extremely proud to become a European Tour venue for the first time by hosting the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Play took place on the Championship Strand Course with the Riverside Course being home to The Village and practice areas. It was a momentous occasion for the Club and everyone involved; the feeling was reflective of the people and town of Portstewart – relaxed, happy and extremely proud… here are some of our great memories of the Tournament:

Jon Rahm, winner of the 2017 DDF Irish Open summed it all up when he said “it’s my pleasure to be here, I came here a couple of years ago to play the Amateur Open and I fell in love with the place, both towns, Portrush and Portstewart.”
“I think the golf course is amazing,” he continued. “It's probably one of the most beautiful golf courses I've ever seen, if not the most.”
